전혀 예상치 못한 상황/발언/질문 등을 통해 상대방의 잘못을 폭로하여 공개적으로 망신주는 것을 뜻하는 비격식체 명사다.

gotcha는 I have got you.를 줄인 것으로 ‘잡았다!’라는 감탄사 또는 ‘네 말을 이해했다.’라는 표현으로도 많이 쓴다.
