불확실한 것에 대해 믿음을 가지거나 결과가 불투명한 일에 도전하는 것을 뜻하는 숙어로 긍정적인 느낌의 표현이다.

직역하면 믿음의 점프니까 건너편에 착지할 곳이 있다고 믿고 뛰는 걸 생각하면 되겠다.

보통 take a leap of faith의 형태로 많이 쓴다.
