to make a long story short를 줄인말이다. (뭐냐. 메타 축약이냐.) 어떤 얘기의 디테일은 생략하고 핵심만 말할 때 종종 이렇게 말을 시작한다. 직역해도 뜻이 통하니까 외울 필요도 없다.
