“Every cloud has a silver lining.”이라는 속담에서 나온 말로 불행 중 다행이라는 뜻이다. 속담을 직역하면 “모든 구름은 밝은 가장자리를 가지고 있다”는 거니까 “모든 힘든 상황은 긍정적인 면도 가지도 있다”는 말이다.
