두 개 이상의 것을 합쳐 새로운 하나를 만든다는 뜻으로 conflate A and/with B의 형태로 사용한다.

밀가루 반죽 둘을 하나로 합치는 그런 거 말고 합치는 대상이 추상적인 개념들일 때 주로 쓴다. 그런데 그 대상들이 서로 달라서 섞으면 안되는데 섞을 때 부정적 의미를 담아 사용하는 경우가 대부분이다.
